I was recently asked during an author interview what my short-term and long-term goals are as a writer, and I thought I'd share this with The Kweendom.
Short-term Goals
My short-term goals as a writer are:
- To finish revising the third book in the series I'm working on, complete all steps in the publishing process, and get these books published!
- To increase my marketing efforts to expand my reach and get my books seen.
- To start working on my next book.
- Now that I've developed a "schedule" for writing, work, school, and editing, stick to the schedule.
- To start writing more standalones.
Pretty simple, right? I'm not a hard person to please! Lol.
Long-term Goals
My long-term goals as a writer are:
- To achieve #1 status on Amazon and to continue doing so.
- To achieve financial success with my writing, but to also achieve popularity.
- To stop pantsing and plot every book before I begin writing.
- To consistently release at least two books a year.
- To publish 100 books in my lifetime.
My long-term goals are where I tend to get more headstrong. 100 books may seem like a lot, but it's been a goal for me for years.
Do you think I'm being unreasonable? Am I asking for or expecting too much? Chime in in the comments!
