Gems of My Crown ~ Scroll vs. Stroll

Gems of My Crown ~ Scroll vs. Stroll

The verbs scroll and stroll seem to be giving the book girlies some trouble. Don't worry, though! Kween Pen's got you covered! Sit back while I break this one down and make it a bit easier for you.

Scroll

The word "scrolling" is used to describe the action of moving the viewable content of a page or website up and down the screen of a device. Scrolling is often done in search of a particular item or bit of information. However, the word is most commonly used to describe doing so in a curious or leisurely way to avoid boredom. We often scroll through social media pages in search of updates on the lives of our friends, and through the guide on TV in search of entertainment.

Stroll

The word "stroll" is used to describe the action of walking in a leisurely way. People who are strolling are in no rush and are generally unbothered. In movies and especially in cartoons, strolling is often depicted by a person with their hands in their pockets, whistling a carefree tune, and observing others as they pass by.

Though these two words sound very similar, they describe completely different actions and are not interchangeable.
