Top Flight Neon Filler Paper, Assorted Colors
I stumbled across this unique pack of colored notebook paper in Walgreen's years ago, and I've been hooked on using it ever since. It's become an integral part of my writing process, helping me stay organized in some of the best ways.
These sheets are lined (college rule) and three-hole punched for easy organization. This pack of notebook paper comes with 100 sheets divided between 4 colors--25 each of pink, yellow, orange, and green. In my writing process, each color has a different purpose.
The yellow sheets are used to help me track basic information. This was originally character information, location information, timelines, notes, etc. However, because I've created forms specifically for character information and timeline tracking, I no longer use the notebook paper for those documents.
The orange sheets are used for additions to the written text. As many of you know, I handwrite my books. It can be hard to add material in the margins of notebooks, so when it is necessary to add material longer than a line or two, I insert a circled number in-line in the text and label the additional information that needs to be inserted in that spot with the same number on a sheet of orange paper. This is the only purpose of the orange paper, so it's easily identifiable when I'm transcribing my work.
Pink sheets are used for insertions, additions, and notes taken during the first round of editing. I use pink instead of orange to help me distinguish editing notes and additions from the original set of additions made during the writing process.
I use the green sheets for random writing notes. They may or may not pertain to that exact manuscript. Often times, these notes are regarding software, book ideas, or notes regarding changes I plan to make to my writing process.
Alternative:
There was a period in which I had run out of paper and could not find the paper anywhere no matter how hard I searched. An internet search only turned up a page on Top Flight's regular website where I was able to read about the product but not purchase it. Because this paper is so important to my writing process, I had to develop an alternative.
I was able to locate a pack of neon copy paper at Walmart that contained similar colors. This pack contained 100 sheets as well, but contained orange, pink, yellow, green, and blue paper at 20 sheets of each.
I then set out to find a template for college ruled paper, which I easily found on Etsy. The template bundle I found included templates for both college and wide ruled paper in multiple formats, all under $5.

Then, all I had to do was print the sheets, and I was back in business! Though I have a three-hole puncher, I opted not to use it for these. However, you can easily hole punch them if you choose.
