Oh, boy. This is such a loaded question. I'm almost always working on new material. And I only say "almost" because after I finish writing a book, I usually take two weeks off writing to rest and recharge. These characters take a lot out of us, man!
I am currently working on new material. I have a three-part series I've finished writing. The first two parts are with the editor, and the third part is undergoing revisions and will be with the editor soon as well. Most of my readers know that most of my books have some kind of Memphis ties in them. This series is no exception. It's based around a female character- a normal woman from Memphis, living a quiet life while under the thumb of an abusive boyfriend. Her favorite rapper makes a tour stop in Memphis, and when her seats are mysteriously upgraded, she ends up meeting the rapper in person. They fall in love, and all kinds of craziness ensues as the FMC attempts to break free of the hold her boyfriend has on her to pursue true love. There are a lot of secrets and a lot of lies told, and in the end, a lot of lives are lost. One thing remains true, though: What is meant to be will be.
I'm also in the beginning stages of plotting a couple of spin-offs from this series. Beyond that, I plan to write a few standalones. I try to keep in mind my readers who don't particularly favor series. It's been a while since I've dropped a book, but I'm working. I'm in the lab whipping up your next favorite read.
